Can my child swim if he's sick?

No.

As much as we love each and every one of our swimmers, we want them here when they are well. Your health and safety is our priority.

The flu, colds, and stomach viruses have been running rampant through North Texas and we want you to stay well!

When your child is showing symptoms, how do you make the best decision about whether your child is well enough to attend lessons?

Do Not Bring Them If:
- They did not attend school that day, or were sent home due to symptoms.
- They are running fever. They must be fever-free for at least 24 hours in order to attend lessons.
- They have or have had stomach ailments such as nausea or diarrhea within the last 24 hours. Beside disruptions to the lesson from frequent bathroom trips, these ailments can easily spread and put all in proximity to your child at risk. According to the Center of Disease Control, one accident in the pool can spread hundreds of millions to billions of germs.
- They have pink eye symptoms. Pink eye is a very contagious infection and can out other children at rick is they're in the water with your child.
- They have a rash that has yet been examined by your physician.
- They have vomited within the past 24 hours.
- They are showing any symptoms for the flu, strep, or stomach virus, especially if they have been directly exposed.

You know your child best. If you suspect they may not be feeling well, it's better to be safe than sorry. Keep in mind we offer make-up classes for times like these.

If your child misses a lesson
Consistent attendance is important for progress but we also realize that there are unavoidable circumstances, such as being ill. As a courtesy to you, The Swim Lesson People offers make-ups. We do ask that you bring a doctor's note once your child has been released to return to normal activities. You can submit a cancellation here and a make-up request here.
