Preschool Program

Age: 4 -5 years old

Our Preschool Program, developed for 4 & 5 year olds, consists of 3 levels before moving into more advanced classes. Our curriculum has been designed with your preschooler's maturity, strength and coordination in mind. Each level is progressive and builds upon previously learned skills. Participants in our Preschool Program are able to explore the water in a fun & safe environment.

What can your swimmer do?

Age: 4-5 years old

Pre-Requisites: None

In Beginner 1, your child will learn water acclimation and comfort thru a child-centered, activity-oriented approach--coupled with unique skill progressions for the following:

  • First Time Submersion
  • Breath Control to 10 seconds
  • Front Kick Glide 3 ft.
  • Independent Swim 5-10 feet
  • Independent Back Float 5 seconds
  • Turn & Swim to safety
  • Various safety skills including calling for help, swim with life vest, waiting for permission and more.

Upon mastering the Beginner skills, your child will advance to Beginner 2 where he/she will continue learn to swim journey with the rollover breath and independent back finning.

Age: 4-5 years old

Pre-Requisites: Swimmer’s in the Beginner 2 class must have a basic breath control of 8-10 seconds, swim 5 feet independently and back float for 5 seconds . Swimmers must be able to follow directions and be comfortable in the water.

In Beginner 2, your child will learn to "swim like a fish" thru a child-centered, activity-oriented approach--coupled with unique skill progressions for the following: 

  • Breath Control- 10 seconds
  • Back Float- independently 10 seconds
  • Independent Back Glide
  • Rollover to Back Float
  • ​Swim- Float- Swim 25 feet
  • ​Safety Jump-  Independent Jump, turn, swim, climb out
  • Various safety skills including calling for help, swim with life vest, waiting for permission and more.

Upon mastering the Beginner 2 skills, your child will advance to Beginner 3 where he/she will continue the learn to swim journey and begin Freestyle stroke work.

Age: 3-5 years old

Pre-Requisites: Swimmer’s in the Beginner 3 class must have a basic breath control of 10 seconds, can swim 20 feet independently on their front and back and back float independently for 10 seconds . Swimmers must be able to follow directions and be comfortable in the water.

In Beginner 3, your child will learn to "swim like a fish" thru a child-centered, activity-oriented approach--coupled with unique skill progressions for the following: 

  • Back Finning- 20 feet
  • Underwater Swimming using a "Pop-up" Breath- 25 feet
  • Freestyle with  "Rolling" Breath- 40 feet
  • Frog Kick on Back 20 feet
  • ​Safety Jump-  Independent Jump, turn, swim, climb out
  • Various safety skills including calling for help, swim with life vest, waiting for permission and more.

Upon mastering the Beginner 3 skills, your child will advance to Advanced Beginner where he/she will learn to swim the formal strokes of Freestyle with Side Breathing and Backstroke.
